2008 Summer Junior Season Information

LOCATION: The Clermont High School Crew rows from the James E. Sauls, Sr. Water Sports Center at East Fork State Park, just west of the public beach. It is reached through the Main Park Entrance off Bantam Road from Ohio 125.

TRANSPORTATION: Transportation for students who do not have school bus transportation will be arranged through parent car-pools. Car pooling home will also be arranged.

PRACTICE:

Varsity: Begins Monday, June 9, 2008.  Practice is Monday and Wednesday from 4:00-6:00pm and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:15-8:15am.

Novice: Begins Monday, June 9, 2008.  Practice will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:35-8:00pm.

EQUIPMENT: Thirty Six (36) racing shells and five (5) coaching launches are available for crews to use cooperatively.

FEES:

Fees include expenses to maintain the club such as equipment insurance, boat repair and maintenance and coaching.  Additional participant expenses are boat transportation, transportation to regattas,  regatta fees, hotel and food costs, which vary depending on regattas and races entered.  A team and/or club uniform will also need to be purchased.

Varsity participant fees: $275.00.

Novice participant fees: $250.00.

SAFETY AND LIABILITY: Safety training is given to all athletes and coaches. Swim requirements must be met and a Participant Agreement signed with acknowledgement of safety training and completion of swim and medical requirements and liability waiver by all athletes ( and parents or guardians if under 18) and coaches.

AVAILABILITY: Clermont High School Crew is open to all High School and home school students regardless of previous experience. CHSC athletes with no previous rowing experience have competed and won at local, Midwest and National levels.  They have been recruited by college rowing programs in what is the fastest growing NCAA sport. CHSC athletes row and also compete in Football, Track, Swimming, Basketball, Wrestling, Golf and other sports through their High School. Our goal is to make this opportunity available to all whether they are competing in athletics currently or want to try a new and exciting sport for the first time.
